We look carefully at everything we do at Envirocare Systems and at the full life cycle of all our products. Everything we supply is as Earth-friendly as we can make or find. We take every opportunity to minimise packaging and to use post-consumer recycled materials and refillable containers for our products. We select only those products that fulfil as much of our selection criteria as is possible.
Here's what we look for and why:

Fewer toxins

We avoid nasty chemicals wherever we can. All our cleaning products are non-toxic to the environment, contain no phosphates or petrochemicals, and do not bio-accumulate. We do not use anti-bacterial agents that wipe out all the good bugs as well as the bad ones.
We also care about your health and the health of your washroom users. We prefer all natural, non-allergenic ingredients. We stay away from nasty preservatives, artificial fragrances or colours which can trigger allergic reactions.

Biodegradable

Anything artificial that ends up in the environment needs to break down quickly. To avoid plastic, we use biodegradable materials for bin liners and other disposables.

Saves water

Water is such a precious resource. We look for systems that save water, such as our waterless urinals and we design our service methods to keep water use at a minimum.

Saves trees

Paper products are essential in the washroom, but using paper means using up trees. We choose recycled paper products and products that reduce paper wastage. We do not use paper sourced from native forests.

Reduces transport

We try to reduce the distance our products and their components travel and the distance we travel ourselves. Reduced transport translates into reduced carbon emissions, reduced energy use and fewer vehicles.

Reduces packaging

Packaging becomes instant waste. We need some packaging for safety, hygiene, identification, transport and storage. But if we can make do with less, so much the better for the Earth.

Long-life

The longer we can keep on using something, the less water, energy and transport we use. And the less waste and landfill we create.

Safe for waterways

Every liquid that goes down our drains can potentially affect our waterways. We avoid chemicals that are toxic to wildlife or can upset the balance of species in waterways, like acids, phosphates and some anti-bacterial agents.

Made in Australia

We prefer to buy and manufacture locallly if we can. Australian goods mean reduced transport, assured quality control, and more jobs for Australian workers.
